Spanish Police Arrests 16 In Aftermath Of May’s UCL Madrid Derby

Violent incidents outside the Estadio Vicente Calderon preceding last month’s Champions League semi-final clash between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid led to 16 arrests, according the police reports.
There were a series of serious disturbances in the vicinity of the stadium in the lead up to the last-ever derby at the ground, with the police having to cordon a group of supporters in a garage after they were attacked by a hail of objects thrown by rival fans.
Six policemen were wounded in the violence and 24 other people required treatment after the incident.
