Celta Vigo have lost another key player after Sergi Gomez departed for Sevilla to the tune of 5.4 million euros.
After failing to reach an agreement on a new contract, the former Barcelona academy player departs for significantly less than his 18m euro release clause, with the deal also containing 1m euros in bonuses.
The Galicians maintain 10 percent of any future sale with the 26-year-old leaving after 134 games in four years at the club.
Gomez departed Vigo on Wednesday morning and could be soon joined at Sevilla by Joris Gnagnon, Stade Rennais’ young defender who is also in Andalusia to complete a move.
