Real Madrid French center-back Raphael Varane, 28, has suffered a muscle injury, the Spanish La Liga side confirmed on Monday.
“Following the tests carried out today on our player Raphaël Varane by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the right abductor muscle. His recovery will be monitored,” it said in a statement.
Real Madrid did not disclose any date for Varane’s return from injury. The Spanish club will face the English Premier League side Chelsea on Wednesday in the Champions League semifinal second-leg at London’s Stamford Bridge.
