Real Madrid earned a 2-0 win over Granada on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Casemiro and Karim Benzema.
It took a while for Real Madrid to get going, and were almost caught early on, but Raphael Varane’s error went unpunished.
Casemiro then rode his luck on the stroke of half-time after pulling the shirt of Yangel Herrera inside the box. Fortunately for the Real Madrid man, VAR opted not to take a closer look.
His compatriot Rodrygo, however, did not have the same fortune as a thigh injury saw him stretchered off before the break, and was replaced by Marco Asensio.
As fate would have it, Casemiro would be the player to open the scoring from an Asensio cross.
Asensio continued to dictate Real Madrid’s attacking play from that point on, with countless superb deliveries into the box.
The match was put beyond any doubt by Karim Benzema in injury time to seal Madrid’s fifth straight win.
