France and Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot will miss out on the Nations League final against Spain on Sunday night after testing positive for COVID-19.

The French Football Federation confirmed the news on Saturday morning, after France had beaten Belgium in Rabiot’s home stadium – the Allianz Stadium in Turin – on Thursday evening.

“Adrien Rabiot will not be able to take part in the Nations League final against Spain,” read a tweet linking to the news that he had tested positive for the virus.

“Rabiot has been placed in isolation. He won’t meet his teammates in Milan and he cannot be replaced, as per the regulations.”

As a result, Didier Deschamps has a 21-man squad at his disposal for France’s game against Spain.
