OTCI Honours Tourism Commissioner, Toke Benson-Awoyinka With Award For Innovation
The Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, has been recognized with the prestigious Dynamic Beacon Award at the 2024 Ideas Day Innovation Competition. The event, themed: “Imagine, Create, Inspire: A New Era of Public Service”, was organized by the Office of Transformation, Creativity, and Innovation (OTCI) and held at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium on Wednesday.
The Award, presented by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, acknowledges Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka’s exceptional contributions to revitalizing Lagos State’s cultural heritage and tourism sector. Her innovative initiatives have significantly advanced the State’s global tourism profile and fostered economic growth.
Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture received the Tourism Development and Cultural Preservation Award, further highlighting its role in positioning Lagos as a leading tourism destination while safeguarding its rich cultural legacy.
The Ideas Day Innovation Competition, now in its third year, celebrates creativity within Lagos State’s Public Service by promoting healthy competition among Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). It serves as a platform for showcasing innovative ideas that drive transformation and improve service delivery.
The event saw a distinguished gathering of members of the State Executive Council, the Body of Permanent Secretaries, and other public servants, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering innovation across all sectors.
