Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA Annual Subsidised Sales Of Ileya Rams: Jakande Commits To Continuing The Initiative

The Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA has begun its annual subsidised sales of Ileya rams, a program designed to support the community’s most vulnerable members. Hon. Seyi Jakande, the current Vice Chairman of the LCDA and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship flag bearer in the forthcoming LG elections, has pledged to sustain this laudable initiative if elected.
This year’s program marks the 8th edition of the subsidised ram sales, a brainchild of the administration led by Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala. The initiative has been a lifeline for many in the community, particularly those in the lowest economic bracket, enabling them to partake in the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. The rams are sold at a subsidised rate of N75,000 each, a significant reduction from the market price of N250,000.
Hon. Jakande, who was actively involved in the process, reiterated his commitment to continuing the program if elected as Chairman. He emphasised the importance of such initiatives in addressing the needs of the people and fostering inclusivity in governance.“This program is a testament to the kind of leadership that prioritises the welfare of the people. If elected, I will ensure that this does not only continue but is also expanded to reach even more families in our community,” Hon. Jakande stated.
Hon. Ajala, the incumbent Chairman, while speaking at the ram sales, also highlighted the program’s impact and urged the community to support Hon. Jakande and the APC in the forthcoming elections.“This program was conceived to support our Muslim brothers and sisters during this annual Eid celebration, and it has become a cornerstone of our administration. Hon. Seyi Jakande is the right person to continue this legacy. If you want this program to thrive, vote for him and the APC on July 12,” Hon. Ajala said.
This year, the LCDA is selling one thousand rams to the people, reaffirming its dedication to the welfare of the people. The initiative has become a vital program, touching the lives of countless families.
As the elections approach, Hon Jakande’s commitment to sustaining this program underscores his vision for a community where no one is left behind. The people of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA have a clear choice: a leader who will build on the progress of the past and ensure a brighter future for all.
