Obaseki Mourns Death Of Former Akoko-Edo LG Chair, Umoru

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has mourned the passing of the immediate past Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Don Oteh Umoru.

The governor, in a statement, expressed shock over the unfortunate development, noting that the late Umoru played a vital role in the government’s efforts at improving governance at the grassroots and will be sorely missed.

According to the governor, “I was shocked at the news of the death of Hon. Don Oteh Umoru, the immediate past Chairman of Akoko Edo Local Government Area (LGA).

“Hon. Umoru, a fine grassroots politician and committed democrat, had a deep understanding of local government administration and contributed immensely to the development of his council and the state. He will be sorely missed.”

Obaseki prayed that God console his family, friends and associates, as well as the people of Akoko-Edo council area and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
