Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal with Everton to sign Romelu Lukaku, despite interest in Alvaro Morata and the Belgian seemingly set for Chelsea, but former Red Devils and Everton player Phil Neville had some fun at the player’s expense.
Via his social media channels, he posted a picture of the striker wearing the new United shirt, suggesting that an announcement of Lukaku’s capture was imminent.
“Left one great club and joined another,” Neville wrote.
The picture was so convincing that it led many to question if the deal had actually happened or if his Instagram account had been hacked.
Later on Friday evening, Neville posted Nemanja Matic’s head on the same shirt, revealing that it was a prank all along.
