Nadal Overcomes Schwartzman En Route To His 14th French Open Semi Final
Rafael Nadal has registered another Roland Garros win to clinch qualification to the French Open semi finals for the 14th time in his astonishing career.
The Spaniard beat Diego Schwartzman 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the tournament in front of around 5,000 spectators who had the opportunity to attend the match.
Nadal did struggle in the first two sets. After winning the first 6-3, he lost the second, but managed to clinch the crucial third and comfortably came out victorious of the last one to seal the win.
Fans decided to back the underdog and Nadal seemed a bit nervous, especially in the second set, which was the first he has lost in the Roland Garros since May 9, 2019, in a match with Dominic Thiem.
After grabbing his 105th victory in the French Open, Nadal will take on the winner of the duel between Novak Djokovic and Matteo Berrettini, who will face each other on Wednesday evening.
