Against Leganes on Wednesday night, Marcelo will be making his 396th official appearance for Real Madrid, equalling the legendary Alfredo di Stefano.
The Brazilian came to the club in the 2006/07 season at only 18 years of age, but with a will and determination to succeed.
After eleven seasons, the same as Di Stefano, Marcelo has won 13 titles: Three LaLiga’s, two Champions Leagues, two Copa del Rey, two Supercopa d’Espana, two European Super Cups and two Club World Cups.
Besides defending, the Brazilian has been a key piece in the team offensively, and he often gets to the opposition area with relative ease, as his 27 goals scored in all competitions would attest to.
Only Sergio Ramos, with 509 appearances, is ahead of Marcelo in the current squad.
