Aresounding 5-0 win away at West Bromwich Albion sent Manchester City top of the Premier League table on Tuesday evening.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been enjoying a rich vein of form recently, and they’re now a point clear of their cross-city rivals, with both sides having played 19 games.

Ilkay Gundogan got his and City’s first of the night with a fantastic effort from the edge of the area with just six minutes played, grabbing his sixth goal in his last eight Premier League appearances.

Joao Cancelo doubled the lead on 20 minutes with an excellent strike off the underside of the crossbar. The offside flag initially ruled the goal out, but VAR intervened and the Portuguese’s goal stood.

Gundogan got another with half an hour played, doing well to find space in the area to slot home, and they had a fourth before half time through Riyad Mahrez.

City slowed down considerably after the break, but Raheem Sterling did add a fifth 10 minutes after the restart.
