Manchester City have extended their winning streak to 21 consecutive games after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Sky Blues took the lead 15 minutes in, when Leander Dendoncker sent the ball into his own net after unsuccessfully attempting a block following a cross.

Rui Silva produced a great save to deny his compatriot Bernardo Silva before the break and Wolves managed to equalise through Conor Coady just after the hour mark.

Raheem Sterling failed to hit the target, but Gabriel Jesus gave Manchester City the lead with 10 minutes to go.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team collapsed after City’s second and the home side put the game to bed through Riyad Mahrez.

The Brazil international sent the ball into an empty net late in stoppage time to put the icing on the cake for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Southampton, Arsenal (twice), Newcastle, Chelsea, Manchester United, Birmingham City, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Cheltenham, West Brom, Sheffield United, Burnley, Liverpool, Swansea, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Borussia Monchengladbach, West Ham and now Wolves are the teams who succumbed to Manchester City during their 21 winning streak.

The Sky Blues remain top of the Premier League table, 15 points ahead of second-placed Manchester United, while Wolves are 12th with 34 points.
