In what has been a troubling pattern in European competition over the past week, there have been yet more crowd disturbances with Spanish riot police clashing with travelling Bayern Munich supporters at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

The incident took place within the away section of the ground whilst the Bavarian club took on Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
What sparked the clash is as yet unclear but it lasted the entire half-time break with only the resumption of hostilities on the pitch calming matters down.

Stadium police entered the away section and handed out blows with batons to a number of German supporters.
