Lukaku, De Bruyne Lead Belgium Comeback To Down Wales

Belgium had to fight back from behind to claim a 3-1 win over Wales on Wednesday evening as World Cup qualification got underway.

Harry Wilson unexpectedly put Wales ahead on the night, but Kevin De Bruyne, Thorgan Hazard and Romelu Lukaku were all on target as the Red Devils ensured their campaign got off to a winning start.

Despite dominating the ball and boasting over 80 per cent of the possession in the first half, Belgium went behind with as little as 10 minutes played. Having not seen much of the ball, Wales put together a free-flowing attacking move that ended with Gareth Bale putting Wilson through to finish.

The lead wasn’t to last though and De Bruyne drew the hosts level midway through the first half, thumping in a stunning strike from long range. Hazard then had them deservedly in front just six minutes later.

The only goal of the second half came from the penalty spot, with Lukaku continuing his impressive season by converting past Danny Ward.
