Manchester United held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw at Anfield on Sunday to keep their rivals at arm’s length at the top of the Premier League table.

In a cagey first half, Bruno Fernandes came closest to opening the scoring for the visitors, bending a freekick just wide of Alisson’s near post.

As the match opened up towards the end of the second half, Liverpool’s Brazilian goalkeeper was called into action.

Both Fernandes and Paul Pogba had chances to secure all three points for United in the closing stages but both saw their respective efforts stopped by Alisson.

The hosts, meanwhile, were restricted to shots from range. The highlight of those attempts saw Thiago test David de Gea.

The draw means Liverpool stay three points behind United in the Premier League table, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side now two points ahead of second place Leicester.
