LeBron Calls Trump A ‘Bum’ After Withdrawing Warriors’ White House Invite
NBA superstar LeBron James didn’t hold mince words after President Donald Trump tweeted Saturday that he was rescinding the Golden State Warriors’ invitation to the White House.
James, arguably the most famous and influential athlete in the world, took to his own Twitter account to levy a response.
He tweeted, “U bum, Stephen Curry already said he ain’t going! So, therefore, ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honour until you showed up!”
After Warriors superstar Stephen Curry said Friday he wasn’t interested in visiting the White House due to Trump’s statements and policies regarding social issues, Trump took to Twitter Saturday morning to say the NBA champions were no longer invited.
Championship teams in major pro and college sports typically visit the White House and meet with the president in the months following their title run.
Trump had tweeted earlier: “Going to the White House is considered a great honour for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating ,therefore invitation is withdrawn!”
