Residents of Maplewood Estate in Agege, Lagos State have expressed their frustration over allegations of corruption and mismanagement of funds to the tune of N50 million contributed to by 33KV power transformer, Worldtopnewsng reports.
Worldtopnewsng gathered that for over two months and two weeks, the community has been plunged into darkness due to an alleged N50 million power transformer that was contributed by the residents.
This prompted the Residents Association to call on Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and other relevant agencies to step in to salvage the situation and bring those responsible for these alleged fraudulent activities and mismanagement of funds accountable for their actions.
The Estate Chairman, Akerele Oseni K., who is also the legal adviser to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), has been unable to give an account of how the money was spent.
Adding to the frustration of the residents other management executives of the estate have been reluctant to address issues regarding power supply, bad roads and other infrastructure challenges within the estate.
It is disheartening to note that the executive management of the Maplewood Estate Association are prominent personalities in Lagos state, holding strategic positions, but have failed to demonstrate their leadership in their immediate community.
