Lagos Slams N.1M Fine On Hotels, Clubs, Beer Parlors With Live Band

Managing Director of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Engr. Rasheed Ademola Shabi has hammered fine of five hundred thousand naira (N500, 000) on Hotels, Club Houses, Beer Parlors and others who play live band at their premises without no permit is restricted.
Shabi who expressed this amid press briefing in Alausa on Friday, seventeenth March, 2017 said there’s need for noise free environment so that more investors can invest in Lagos and furthermore for residents to carry on with a healthy life.

He portrayed that the agency have a dream of decreasing noise pollution in the state to 95 per cent by the year 2020 against the current 45 per cent.

Shabi expressed further that the organization needs to work at the pace of the governor in swinging Lagos to super urban communities like, Dubai, New York, Geneva, Switzerland, London among others.

“I entreat every single existing hotels, club houses, religion houses, beer parlors to sound proof their environment for noise pollution.

“For those of them who brings live bands to entertain their customers should from this time forward get permit before conveying them to their locality while the new ones must get sign-off. Most particularly the club houses must have soundproofing and acoustic dividers to keep the pollution. Whoever discovered wanting in all have said will be fine for the sum N500,000.

“No investor would want to invest into an uproarious situation, so we have vision of diminishing the noise to 95% if not more than by 2020.

“We are working at the pace of our dear governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode for transforming Lagos into a state like Dubai, Geneva, New York, Miami, London among others.
