Lagos, A Forward Looking State – Olokoba
A renowned Public Commentator and human right activist, Comrade Razaq Olokoba has described Lagos State as forward looking state that is always ahead of any unforeseen circumstances that could jeopardise its plans for the present and future wellbeing of its citizenry.
The vocal pro-democracy advocate made the observation Monday during a Yoruba Current Affairs Programme (Oro To N’ Lo), on the Lagos Television (LTV), where he said, the state is always prepared for eventualities with a view to tackling them as they come.

Olokoba, who was discussing ‘Restructuring’ in the programme anchored by that seasoned journalist, Toyin Bamisaye-Oni, said, Lagos State is able to plan ahead for its citizens because of the knowledge of those at the helm of affairs about the peculiarity of the state, terrain, people and environment.
According to the renowned political analyst, every leader of every region in the country also knows the peculiarity of his region where he administer, saying, if the country is restructured, handlers of all the various regions would be in position to cater for their people according to their needs within the availability of resources at their disposals.
Going down the memory lane, the youth leader reminded that during the regional administration in the country, Groundnut Pyramid was used to build Kano, Palm Oil and rubber was used to build the east while Cocoa and Kolanut was used to build the west.
Olokoba debunked the impression that, restructuring has the same meaning with disintegration of the country, saying, rather, it would strengthening the unity of the country, facilitate rapid development and promote healthy competition for the good of the generality of the citizenry.

Going back to Lagos State, Olokoba informed that, though the state does not have a vast land proportionate to its population, he commended those at the corridor of power for their political ingenuity and economic dexterity they apply to turn that disadvantage to a huge advantage that has kept the state going as the first destination for investments.
While reminding that peace is an important ingredient for growth, progress and development, the activist, who is also the National President of the Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), therefore appealed to all and sundry to maintain peace, asserting that, all the acts of banditry, kidnapping and insurgency are inimical to peaceful existence and therefore must stop.
