Ex-APC Scribe, 3000 Others Defect To PDP In Delta
A former Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Ughelli South President General of Umolo clan in Ughelli south, Engr S.U Akpe, alongside over 3,000 others have dumped the APC for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Ughelli South recently.
Akpe who was the Secretary general of APC in Ughelli south announced his defection to the PDP at a PDP Ughelli South Meeting held with the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Peter Mrakpo at Jovi Garden over the weekend.
Their defection is coming barely 24 hours to the forthcoming local government council election holding on Saturday across the state.
Akpe who was accompanied by the 3000 APC women and youths described his defection to PDP as the best thing that ever happen to him and his followers that he is now home, that APC are deceivers and the change they clamour about is to deceive Nigerians. Barr. Mrakpo who called on all former members of the party who defected to the ruling APC at the centre to ‘return home’, adding that PDP was now better positioned to provide level playing field for all members.
Commissioner for justice further noted that “we cannot lose sight of the fact that it is political party that brought us to where we are today; so, we will continue to welcome our members back to the umbrella party.
“We will continue to work for our people; you should ensure that you go out on Saturday to vote.”
A leader of the decampees, Engr S.U Akpe in his remark before officially declaring for the PDP, disclosed that with what he have seen so far in these Okowa administration he have no reason to remain in APC, that Okowa administration is centered on development and developing the youths.
The umolo PG said we will test our strength on Saturday during the local government council election.and urge every one to come out enmass and vote for the tomorrow election.
