Lorenzo Insigne made Napoli history during their 2-1 win over Udinese at the Dacia Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Italian international’s penalty in the 15th minute saw him draw level with Careca in eighth on the list of Napoli’s all-time leading scorers.

The pair have both scored 97 goals in all competitions for Napoli and, curiously, also have the same number of Serie A goals for the club with 73.

The visitors’ lead lasted just 12 minutes against Udinese, as Kevin Lasagna profited on a mix-up in the Napoli defence to equalise.

Gennaro Gattuso’s side found a late winner, though, when Tiemoue Bakayoko met Mario Rui’s free kick in the 90th minute.

The victory sees Napoli move level on points with fourth-place Atalanta in Serie A, though they are still nine points behind leaders AC Milan.
