I Didn’t See Real Madrid’s Statement About Mbappe – Al-Khelaifi

Nasser Al-Khelaifi has discussed a number of the current points of interest at Paris Saint-Germain, and that of course included Kylian Mbappe.

He was asked about the statement issued by Real Madrid last weekend, in which they denied holding negotiations with Kylian Mbappe with a view to a possible signing of the Frenchman in the next summer transfer window.

“I didn’t see the statement to be honest, we are focused on ourselves, not on others,” the PSG president told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“The good thing is that everyone at the club is focused on football.

“As I’ve said before, Mbappe is the best player in the world and it’s fantastic to see how he drives PSG and also the French national team.

“He is also a very positive influence on all the young players we have at PSG and helps us build our future legacy.”

Al-Khelaifi on the summer of change at PSG

PSG have changed a lot this summer, with a new coach, 11 new players and a new training centre.

Al-Khelaifi thinks that all of these changes are a natural part of the club growing.

“I would call it evolution, not revolution,” he said.

“At our club, we demand the maximum from ourselves, and that means constantly looking for ways to improve and grow.

“When you build new foundations, of course you need time, determination, patience and perseverance.

“A project is built on a plan, not on the result of one or two games.

“More than anything, we have a renewed philosophy, based on the collective, not the individual.

“I really enjoy watching our team play. And I think our fans do too, who are a fantastic support.

“We have already seen moments of brilliance after just a few months with the new, very young squad and the technical team, and we know we are on the right track.”
