Halep Taken To Hospital With Dehydration Following Final
Romanian tennis ace and Australian Open finalist Simona Halep had to be rushed to hospital on Saturday night after being beaten in three sets by Caroline Wozniacki.
Suffering from dehydration after the game, the 26-year-old spent the night under observation at the hospital having said that everything hurt after her defeat.
Even in the final, Halep had to request medical attention during the second set but continued to play until she was beaten by Wozniacki.
After several hours in hospital with her family by her side, Halep was released on Sunday morning.
Earlier on in the tournament, she had suffered an ankle injury. Her next scheduled tournament is set to be in Doha on February 11.
