Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has revealed that the squad watched footage of several NBA dynasties before the final against Liverpool in Kiev.
Los Blancos won their third consecutive Champions League title and the Croatia international has shared one of Zinedine Zidane’s tricks to boost the player’s morale prior the game.
“In the week before the final we watched a film about basketball teams like the Chicago Bulls, the Lakers and Boston Celtics and how they had won the NBA title three or four times in a row,” he told Die Welt.
“They called it a dynasty and now we could also be called a dynasty.”
In his long interview for the German newspaper, Modric also praised the qualities of his teammate Toni Kroos.
“For me he is one of the best in the world and I enjoy every game at his side,” he added.
“His personality is very similar to mine and I think that’s why we have a good connection.
“It’s amazing, anything can happen, but he never gets nervous.
“I am a quiet person as well, but he is much more so [than me].”
