Edo 2020: Atu Reacts As Ize-Iyanmu Decline To Face Shaibu On A Live BBC Debate

Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr. Benjamin Atu, has apologies to viewers all over the World over the embarrassing conduct and immodest attitude displayed by Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the just concluded Live BBC Edo Governorship Election debate.

He wondered while a man who claimed to be a Pastor couldn’t hide his anger and intolerance in a public show. “It is a shameful act that Ize-Iyamu was absent-minded and unconsciously revealed his temperament to the World by his furious show of anger which has made the social media to be on fire. How can a man who can’t manage his personal emotions model a State? Governorship position is not one of those jobs for the boys. A man who can’t manage his hatred and fear for the Deputy Governor can’t preside over the affairs of a State.”

“Ize-Iyamu’s outright rejection and expression of fear in facing the Deputy Governor of Edo State one on one in a live debate, has shown that the paraded ‘Simple Agenda’ of Ize-Iyamu is merely a scam and deceptive collections of pirated thoughts to mislead the people of Edo State.

“Unlike Ize-Iyamu that is rendered uneasy by ideas and uncomfortable by intellectuals, Comrade Philip Shaibu, on the other hand, is a man of action who could pass easily to the realm of ideas and confront intellectuals with perfect confidence without the public display of arrogance and timidity that was expressed by Ize-Iyamu. An act which has deepened his chances of failure in the forthcoming governorship election.”

According to Atu, “to be a positive good in politics, one must have a solid moral code governing his actions, a broad knowledge-based, as well as tradition and specific background in the technical problems of Government and such a person, must have the political appeal-the gift of winning public confidence and support. These qualities that Ize-Iyamu didn’t possess were the same qualities he has discovered in the life of the Deputy Governor hence his refusal to face him in a debate.”

“The Nigerian constitution as deficient as it remains the ground norm and it recognizes the office of the Governor and the Deputy Governor as a joint ticket where the Deputy Governor has a legal backing to act in the absence of the Governor. The fact that Ize-Iyamu is not aware of the role of the Deputy Governor shows Ize-Iyamu is ignorant about the workings of government.”

He maintained that the attempt by Ize-Iyamu to put his personal mischievous plans over and above what’s stipulated in the constitution is an attempt to downplay the sovereignty of the people.

Speaking further, the media aide mock John Mayaki over his misplaced statement where he accused the Governor of the State of fleeing away from questions. “Mayaki should be reminded that in 2016 a similar debate took place between Obaseki and same Ize-Iyamu at the Benson Idahosa University where Ize-Iyamu couldn’t define his mission for the State. Facing Ize-Iyamu in a debate is the delight of Governor Godwin Obaseki because the APC candidate has never managed any economy and has no idea how to run a business.”

“Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu who has not been able to manage animals how can such a person manage the complexity of human resources and societal challenges?”

“The farm that Ize-Iyamu is parading as a farmer has been reduced to a refuge of few hungry looking chickens. A man who hasn’t been able to grow his personal status into prosperous ways can’t promise the people of Edo State prosperity when he has not been able to stabilize himself in the management of animals.”

“Both Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy are good human resources managers who have lead a worthy economy and build sustainable development because they were successful in their personal endeavours before venturing into politics, unlike Ize-Iyamu who has no other trade apart from politics. John Mayaki and his principal should first prosper themselves from their private endeavours before promising others unimaginable prosperity because charity must begin at home. You can’t offer others what you do not possess. Ize-Iyamu does not possess leadership skills therefore can’t lead in this 21 century.”

“Nigerians are yet to recover from the poor performance of Ize-Iyamu in such an international program. We once again apologies to Nigerians who were embarrassed by the unruly actions of the APC candidate, his fear for the Deputy Governor was obvious and also understandable. The public display of fear has shown he doesn’t possess the moral turf of the Deputy Governor.”

“The fact that he couldn’t stand the energetic spirit of Comrade Philip Shaibu, a world-class legislature who has used the collective will of parliament to fight for good of Nigerians has justified the fact that  Comrade Philip Shaibu and Governor Godwin Obaseki are the best men for the job.”

“Ize-Iyamu would have delegate his own Deputy Governorship candidate Gani Audu to represent him and face with the Edo State Deputy Governor.”

Atu stated that the whole world has finally realized that Comrade Philip Shaibu has become pills too bitter for Ize-Iyamu and former Governor, Adams Oshiomhole to swallow.

The deputy governor’s aide advised the APC candidate to consider his capacity and withdraw from the race to safe himself from the embarrassing defeat that awaits him.
