Fans Start Petition To Have England’s Euro 2020 Final Loss Against Italy Replayed
England fans continue to struggle with coming to terms with the fact that football isn’t coming home this summer, following their failure in the Euro 2020 final against Italy.
While some supporters have taken to abusing the players who missed penalties in the shootout, others have tried to take matters into their own hands.
One such fan has created a petition on change.org in an attempt to force a replay of the final.
“The match on 11/07/2021 was not fair at all,” the creator wrote. “After Italy only receiving a yellow card for dragging England players like they were slaves.
“All the pushes, pulls and kicks and Italy was still allowed to win? Definitely biased.
“Italy should have been given a red card for their gameplay and the rematch should happen with a non biased referee. This was not fair at all.”
The survey aims to get 75,000 signatures and picked up the majority of those very quickly.
