The Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN) and Phone and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (PAPDAN) on Monday condemned alleged “tyrannical activities” of Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Chief Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, in Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos.

In a joint communique made available to worldtopnewsng.com, the associations rejected Tinubu-Ojo’s “autocracy system of leadership in the state which according to them was “accentuated by installing Iyaloja (female market leader) everywhere” Describing it  as unconstitutional.

The associations further explained that a year ago members from the Computer Village protested against her decision to force Iyaloja on them. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, who is the daughter of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while responding to the criticism said the protesters were ill-informed.

When worldtopnewsng.com  visited the area on Monday, all the shops were under lock and key, no business was going on as the atmosphere there was very tense at the time.

Speaking with worldtopnewsng.com on the development, CAPDAN spokesperson, Mr Ademola Olaifa clarified that the appointed Iyaloja, Chief Bisola Isopayin decided to rule with force with or without the support of the neither the CDA nor the business operators. She chose to recruit hooligans and criminals to fortify herself and raining terror on traders in the environment.

“We do not belong to the market women association of Nigeria. We are professionals. We cannot be brought under a body that is unconstitutional. We have taken them to court yet they are still harassing, beating and extorting our members.”

“The Ogunbiyi Community (the host community) is the only recognised authority by Lagos State to be in charge of the business environment as the fourth tier of government and to form a synergy with the business operators in managing the community.”

Some of the protesters who spoke with our correspondent expressed their grievances, lamenting that her dictatorial conduct might negatively affect the presidential ambition of her father, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2023.

One of the protesters who didn’t want her name mentioned on account of her party affiliation said that they are preparing to mobilise thousands of market men and women across the state to stop Tinubu’s daughter dictatorship. “is this how she will be installing unconstitutional Iyaloja and Babaloja in markets across the state and Nigeria at large when Asiwaju becomes President? We can’t take this from them,” she retorted.

She concluded that they are going to march from Computer Village to State House, Lagos State House of Assembly and Bourdillon House of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu very soon.

Folashade Tinubu-Ojo in an exclusive interview with worldtopnewsng.com explained that she’s doing her own private investigation on the issue. “I don’t want to comment on the matter because I invited her (Isopayin) today and she told me she was not the one who gave instructions to lockdown Computer Village, that it was one of them who ordered that,” she disclosed.

She added that “it is very embarrassing to my person for them to say I requested N1000  from the traders.”

Tinubu-Ojo lamented that she got their message via a social media platform last night before people started calling her attention to it.

According to Isopayin in a telephone chat with worldtopnewsng.com, she stated that she ordered the payment of N1000 per month and there’s a letter to that effect which was sent to the traders in the market.

“The issue there is, the Igbo people in the market don’t want to submit themselves to the authority, so it’s not the N1000 that’s the issue, it’s just that they want to attack you on very little issue.”

“N1000 is less than N50 a day, so why wouldn’t they be able to pay it? We have been securing the environment and nobody knows how the entrances of Computer Village is being secured; we have security guards day and night, so what are they talking about?, she asked rhetorically.”
