Everton Beat Wolves At Home

Spread the love

Everton picked up three important points away at Wolves on Tuesday evening, with James Rodriguez playing an important role again.

Carlo Ancelotti had defended James in the buildup to this one and the Colombian was involved as Everton opened the scoring with five minutes played. A nice switch to Lucas Digne allowed the ex-Barcelona player to tee up Alex Iwobi to finish.

But it didn’t take Wolves long to level. A corner was only half cleared, and the ball made its way back into the box, with Ruben Neves volleying in the equaliser.

It took until the final 15 minutes, but another corner at that same end saw Everton go back in front. Another half-clearance left the danger alive and Andre Gomes picked out Michael Keane to head home.

Neves almost drew Wolves level again, but his freekick clipped the outside of the post as it flew wide.

Richarlison had a big chance to kill the game off but failed to make the most of a one-man counterattack.
