EU Optimistic COVID-19 Vaccine Could Be Ready This Year
The European Commissioner for Health, Stella Kyriakides, is optimistic that a coronavirus vaccine could be ready in 2020.
If not by the end of the year then she believes one would be ready by early 2021.
“Even though making predictions is risky right now, we have some positive indications that an initial vaccine could be ready by the end of this year or the start of next year,” she told German publication Handelsblatt.
Despite this optimism, Kyriakides warned that a vaccine won’t mean the immediate end of the pandemic.
“A vaccine isn’t going to solve all the problems at once,” she said.
