Erling Haaland Brace Gives Borussia Dortmund Away Win Against Sevilla

Alate Luuk de Jong strike gave Sevilla a fighting chance of progressing in the Champions League, though they fell to a 3-2 loss to an Erling Haaland-inspired Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

Suso had given the LaLiga Santander side an early lead, but Mahmoud Dahoud and Haaland had the Germans coasting towards a victory with three away goals until De Jong’s late goal.

Just seven minutes were on the clock when Suso opened the scoring in typical fashion. Fernando switched the ball from left to right to Suso, who cut inside past Jadon Sancho and sent a deflected shot past Marwin Hitz.

But Haaland’s impact was soon felt and, just over ten minutes later, he teed up Dahoud to level things up.

Another ten minutes passed and the Norwegian got his own goal. Sancho clipped a ball over Sevilla’s backline for the forward, who beat Bono to the ball to finish.

Before half time had even arrived, Haaland was celebrating again. Marco Reus drove forward and laid off for the No.9, who slid in to turn the ball home.

De Jong came on to replace Suso, and did what the Spaniard did early on by netting six minutes from the end, volleying an Oscar Rodriguez pass past Marwin Hitz.

Sevilla wanted a penalty deep into stoppage time for an incident involving De Jong, but VAR ruled that there was no foul.
