Ernesto Valverde is to make his competitive debut as Barcelona coach against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Supercopa de Espana on Friday August 11, it has been reported.
As Copa del Rey winners, the Blaugrana host the season opener three days before heading across the country to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The second leg would therefore be on Monday August 14, according to Real Madrid TV but as yet unconfirmed by the Spanish FA.
That would mean Los Blancos being back in action only three days after their UEFA Super Cup clash with Manchester United in Skopje.
In addition, the Clasico rivals are to meet in Miami for a friendly on July 29.
