Edo State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Information, Youth, Sports and Special Duties today recommended that the Managing Director of Royal Alliance Limited be sued for breach of contract for supplying six out of ten kilowatts transmitter ordered by the state government for Edo Broadcasting Service.

The recommendations was contained in the report of the committee presented at plenary by the Chairman and member representing Esan North-East Constituency, Rt. Hon. Frank Abumere Okiye.

Presenting the report of the standing committee on the visit to Edo Broadcasting Service Aduwawa and the Ministry of Communication and Orientation, Chairman of the Committee Hon. Okiye said the legislative oversight was geared towards exposing corruption and inefficiency.

The Committee Chairman highlighted some observations from the legislative oversight which include the supply of a six kilowatts transmitter by the contractor instead of a ten kilowatts ordered by the state government.

The committee also reported the alleged refusal of the Managing Director of Royal Alliance limited to appear before it, encroachment on landed property of EBS and threat to industrial harmony following the redeployment of a large portion of professional staff to ministries.

The Speaker Rt.Hon. Amb Marcus Onobun urged members to study the report while the Clerk Alhaji Yahaya Omogbai Audu slated it for consideration for a later date.

Plenary was thereafter adjourned to Tuesday, 2nd March, 2021.
