Eden Hazard Resume Training With Real Madrid Teammates

Wednesday saw Real Madrid hold their first training session in preparation for the trip to Eibar on Sunday, and the noteworthy participant was Eden Hazard, who returned to group work as he nears a return to action.

Hazard has been out since picking up an injury in the opening minutes of the home game against Alaves on November 28. The Belgian forward was seen training without restrictions along with the rest of the squad, while the starters from Tuesday night’s victory over Athletic Club did a recovery session.

That game against Alaves, in which Hazard tried to play on before being removed before the half-hour mark, had been his third consecutive game and he was starting to build up some rhythm before this latest setback.

It was the former Chelsea player’s second muscle injury of the season, and it has seen him miss the last five matches.

In his absence, Los Blancos lost the first game, against Shakhtar, before going on a four-game winning run. Nevertheless, Zinedine Zidane will be happy to have the 29-year-old available for the trip to Ipurua, if all goes to plan between now and then.

Also training was Luka Jovic, although in his case separately from the group. The Serbian hasn’t played since November 8 thanks to COVID-19 and a muscle injury.
