Defeating England on penalties to claim the nation’s first international honour since 2006 is likely to be reward enough for members of Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad, yet each player is also in line to receive a bonus of 250,000 euros.

The agreement between the president of the Italian Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina, comes after Italy received 99 million euros for their participation in the competition.

As revealed on Monday by La Gazzetta dello Sport, England’s players received a bonus of 200,000 euros for finishing as runners-up.

The 2006 World Champions representing Italy received 250,000 euros each, whilst the 1982 World Cup squad received individual payments of 180 million Liras, which roughly equates to 90,000 euros.
