The Portuguese Football Federation have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for COVID-19, so he will be unavailable for Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Sweden on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old is now isolating and is asymptomatic. The rest of the Portugal squad have tested negative, so they will have no issues ahead of the Sweden match.

In addition to Portugal’s upcoming fixture, Cristiano can expect to miss Juventus’ games once club football returns this weekend. The Bianconeri will face Crotone away from home in Serie A on Saturday before travelling to Ukraine to take on Dynamo Kyiv in their Champions League group-stage opener next Tuesday.

Barring any problems, Cristiano should return in time to host Barcelona in the Champions League on October 28.
