Robert Lewandowski won the 2020 FIFA Best Award hands down given his performances with Bayern Munich in the 2019/20 season as he helped them to a Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League treble, but Lionel Messi was shunted down to third place by Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Juventus forward won Serie A for the second successive year, while Messi’s Barcelona side finished behind Real Madrid in the race for LaLiga Santander.
Lewandowski picked up 52 points in the voting for The Best, while Ronaldo got 38 and Messi tallied 35.

Messi though was more popular with coaches, picking up 196 votes to 186, with the Portuguese star winning out among players, 259 to 207, and fans 457,905 to the Argentines 356,950. Lewandowski was most popular among everyone.
