COVID-19 Hits Nigeria Harder, Records More Than 5,000 New Cases Within 72hrs
The Nigerian government has recorded 1,633 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, according to a tally by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), worldtopnewsng.com can confirm.
It marked the 23rd time the country’s daily new cases reached four figures — and is the seven-highest single-day jump in infections since the pandemic began.

The NCDC also recorded seventeen more Coronavirus-related deaths on Saturday.
Thus, it comes after the country reported 5,430 new cases in within 72 hours for the first time, as worldtopnewsng.com warn that the surge in infections could continue to worsen as winter arrives.
Lagos State lead the way with 498 followed by Plateau State, FCT and Rivers State with 214 and 176, 99 respectively from the 1,633 new cases added on Saturday.

The NCDC has now reported a total of 120,603 confirmed cases and 1,502 related deaths while 95,901 recovered from the deadly virus.
