I Am The Conor McGregor Of Football – Ibrahimovic
Conor McGregor will take on the undefeated Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas on Saturday evening in 2017’s hottest fight and everybody is talking about it, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the Swedish forward claiming he is the McGregor of football.
The Irish fighter is renowned for his confidence and ability to get under an opponent’s skin and Ibrahimovic intimated that the pair are similar.
“He is the Ibrahimovic of martial arts and I am the McGregor of football, I see a lot of confidence in him and he will win,” the striker explained to Sport Bible.
As the interview progressed, the former Barcelona forward pointed towards the Irishman’s power as a potentially decisive factor.
“Conor has strength and can knock you out from any angle and he believes in himself like I do.”
Friday’s weigh-in saw the natural boxer fall just short of his opponent’s weight at 67kg, whilst the 29-year-old came in at 69kg.
The confidence shown by the UFC icon has irked a lot of fans, although Manchester United’s latest signing believes it can be the difference between success and failure in sport.
“You have to believe in yourself, in doing the mental part you are completing 50% of the task.”
Ibrahimovic was speaking after signing a new deal with Manchester United.
