Dear President Tinubu,

I feel very honoured with a deep sense of a renewed hope to express my heartfelt wishes and congratulations on your success as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

You proactively hit the ground running from the time of your Inuaguration with critical commitment to your economic roadmap anchored on the Renewed Hope mantra particularly on the issue of fuel subsidy, naira/FX imbalances, interest rate, multiple exchange rates, foreign policies, poverty reduction, living wage, revenue mobilization, restructure Nigeria etc. This is a testament of your uncommon track record in leadership, public service and governance.

As an institution, you have consistently championed the democratic principles. Your resilience to ensure that the gains of our democratic tenets are not eroded has earned this majestic office for you. Now, it beckons more that you guarantee our viability in the global democratic index and metrics.

I’m extremely confident that your Presidency will bring about significant positive changes and actions. Like you rightly asserted to Nigerians in your inaugural speech that you are here to govern and not rule over us. We want you translate your bold vision into reality to revamp our economy, quantum infrastructural development, massive job and wealth creation, access to health, access to education, technology, energy needs, access to justice and a better life for every Nigerian.

By your national leadership, our great party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) witnessed successively electoral victories. You are truly a party man who ensured the big family across all sub-nationals were bonded together.

I highly commend your determination to engender national unity, foster diversity, inclusiveness and quality representation. You embrace everyone irrespective of political, religious, tribal or ethnic affiliations. Remarkably, you have a knack to spot, groom and mentor young talents to enable them freely express their dreams and potentials in any human endeavours. It’s time to quickly articulate youth development policies and programs to curb the “Japa syndrome” and talent capital flight which is affecting our GDP to Tax ratio.

Your Excellency Sir, I am a pro-subsidy removal. This move is very courageous, unprecedented and a masterstroke. However, quickly roll out strategic palliative measures, build refineries, mass transport systems, electricity investment, hardship allowance etc to absorb the hardship of Nigerians especially the downtrodden in our communities. With the coming of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), the oil sector should be allowed to be fully deregulated.

There cannot be sustainable growth and development without peace and stability. I urge you to frontally confront insecurity head on and decisively root out those who seek to undermine our nation’s greatness and restore total peace and stability in every part of our dear country.

There is a consensus clamour for frantic steps to be taken to reduce the cost of governance in Nigeria. This will cause a frugal and responsible management of our common resources. There should not be any waste of our valuable resources under your able watch.

I make a call for you to be magnanimous in victory. A lot of us are inspired by the magnitude of ideals and vision you hold for our country. It’s time to harness the collective abilities and potentials of Nigerian youths and women whether they voted for you or not.

I urge you to rebuild, transform and reposition the South East region of Nigeria. South-East needs to be captured for national development. The region deserves a development commission.

Finally, I urge you to be open to dissenting views and constructive criticism as you embark on this path of greatness. We are determined to collaborate, engage, partner and work together to forge a prosperous, peaceful and united administration and a brighter future for every Nigerian. Stay focused and concentrate on good and accountable governance and keeping your part of the social contract with the people.

I wish you vitality, vigour, direction, guidance, sound health, strength and ultimately God’s wisdom to pilot the affairs of our statehood.

Once again, Congratulations to Mr President and a trailblazer.

I also heartily congratulate Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila on his deserving appointment as the Chief of Staff to the President and Sen. George Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

May Nigeria always Win

Regards,
