Tuchel’s Chelsea Beat Sheffield United

Spread the love

Chelsea had a scare against Sheffield United thanks to Antonio Rudiger’s comical own goal, but looked in control throughout as they strolled to victory at Bramall Lane.

Thomas Tuchel’s side took the lead on the stroke of half time through Mason Mount, with a perfectly weighted cut-back from Timo Werner setting him up to convert.

10 minutes into the second half, Rudiger halted his run as the Blades fed a through ball into the box, forcing him to panic and pass the ball back beneath his own oncoming goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

It took only 120 seconds for that to be forgotten though, as Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale pulled down Werner in the box, with Jorginho stepping up to give the Blues the lead again.

The result puts Chelsea just one point behind Liverpool, who were beaten by Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
