The umbrella body of Yoruba youth groups, Yoruba Youth Socio-cultural Association (YYSA) has chided President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for the ridiculous outcomes of corruption cases against Mrs Patience Jonathan, the couple in the judicial sieges Justice Adeniyi Ademola, his wife Olubowale and one mr Joe Agi.

According to statement jointly signed by the  association’s National President, Habib Olalekan Hammed and the Deputy Director of Publicity, Comrade Hamzat Abass Ayodeji made available to the journalists on Friday said Nigerians are losing hope in the President Buhari’s anti graft war due to the absurdities and the recent ridiculous outcomes of corruption cases in Nigeria.

The statement read:

“It seems as if some highly placed Nigerians are taking this administration to unavoidable ransom. If not, federal government would not be handling corruption cases with levity to the extent of persistently losing it.

“It sounds highly embarrassing to heard that Mrs Patience Jonathan who was unable to account for millions of dollars found in her bank accounts and other properties she allegedly acquired defeated federal government in court.”

“The discharge of Justice Adeniyi Ademola, his wife Olubowale and Mr Joe Agi case at Federal High Court Maitama, Abuja by Justice Jude Okeke was also a blow to the administration anti corruption war despite all evidences shown that Mr Joe Agi allegedly paid N30m into Mrs Olubowale’s account in three tranches of N10m each between March 11 and 27,2015 was gratification meant to influence Justice Ademola in his official functions.”

“Meanwhile, corruption has been seriously fighting back through it agents at presidency and the national assembly. An evidence is the ongoing ransom-like negotiation between the executive and the legislative arm of government over the rejection of EFCC acting chairman Mr Ibrahim Magu, war path with Nigeria Customs Service Boss, Col. Ali, failure to confirm 27 INEC resident commissioners and refusal of the lawmakers to confirm two ministerial nominee sent to them by the President.”

“The association however concluded that there is no doubt the cabal in the presidency and notorious gang at the national assembly have overpowered the President Buhari making him helpless, toothless to the extent that his main objective of becoming Nigerian president which is fighting corruption has been frustrated”.
