Bruno Fernandes netted twice, as Bournemouth surrendered two leads and drew 2-2 at home against Manchester United on Saturday.

Dominic Solanke received a long ball by Marcos Senesi and made the most of Will Kambwala slipping before cutting inside to open the scoring with a thunderous strike 16 minutes into the first half.

From that point on, the game turned into a back-and-forth affair, with Marcus Rashford and Luis Sinisterra failing to find the target. The Red Devils piled the pressure on the hosts and Bruno Fernandes took advantage of an error by Bournemouth’s defence to level the scores just after the half and hour mark.

The hosts fought back, with Solanke’s shot going just wide before Senesi pulled off his second assist of the game to set up Justin Kluivert, who beat Andre Onana with a low strike.

Bournemouth came close to netting a third before the break, but Milos Kerkez was unlucky to see his header crash against the crossbar before Onana denied Kluivert following a dead ball.

Nine minutes into the first half’s stoppage time, Fernandes found some space outside Bournemouth’s box and unleashed a strike that hit the crossbar.

In the 63rd minute, Adam Smith handled the ball in the box to concede a sloppy penalty that Fernandes converted from the spot to complete his brace and equalise again for Manchester United.

Then, the two teams pushed for a winner, but they both struggled to produce clear-cut chances mainly due to their lack of a final pass.

Following their second 2-2 draw in a row, the Red Devils now sit seventh, level on points with Newcastle and 10 points behind the Champions League spots. Meanwhile, Andoni Iraola’s side have gone unbeaten at in their last five homes games and sit 12th in the Premier League table with 42 points.
