Karim Benzema scored a sensational hat-trick against Chelsea despite fasting for Ramadhan.
The Real Madrid striker is currently observing Ramadhan as part of his Muslim faith.
Fasting hasn’t hindered his performance, however.
In fact, he reckons it may even make him stronger.
Recently quizzed by Esquire about Ramadhan’s impact on his routine, schedule and training regime, Benzema revealed that there isn’t any.
He said: “No impact, Ramadhan is part of my life and my religion makes Ramadhan an obligation.
“For me, it’s very important and I feel good when I’m fasting.”
Asked what he’s grateful for, he replied: “I am grateful for being in good health.”
Benzema, 34, was in red-hot form as Madrid blitzed past Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman converted a sensational header in the 21st minute, before beating Edouard Mendy with another just moments later.
