Chelsea Sack Frank Lampard, Set To Appoint Tuchel

Chelsea have sacked Frank Lampard this Monday, with Roman Abramovich unimpressed by the Blues’ form so far this season.

The Englishman, a club legend and their all-time record goalscorer, has been unable to reverse a recent slump and has had pressure increasing on him with each passing week.

Now, the club have taken the decision to part ways with Lampard, despite winning in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Chelsea spent close to 250 million euros last summer, but Lampard hasn’t been able to get the best out of new signings Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, and Hakim Ziyech.

Since Abramovich arrived at Stamford Bridge, no coach has had a worse points per game record than Lampard’s 1.67, with even Andre Villas-Boas boasting better numbers. Only four coaches have had a worse record at Chelsea in the Premier League era.

Additionally, the 1.35 goals per game Chelsea concede is their worst record in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, former Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel is the current favourite to take the job after Lampard’s dismissal.
