Bianconeri Move Into Fourth After Cristiano Ronaldo Brace

Cristiano Ronaldo scored two more penalties for Juventus as he fired them to a 3-1 win away to Genoa in Serie A on Sunday evening.

The Portuguese had scored twice from the penalty spot at Barcelona in midweek, and he continued a good week as the Italian champions got back to domestic duty at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Juventus didn’t have it all their own way in Liguria though, particularly during the first half, though their defence had very little to do.

Paulo Dybala punish them again though and the Argentine bagged his first goal of this Serie A season to open the scoring, cutting in from the right and firing in at the near post. Federico Chiesa thought he had doubled their lead shortly after, but was thwarted by the offside flag.

Juventus were then undone by three familiar faces. Marko Pjaca and Luca Pellegrini, both on loan at Genoa from Juve, combined before crossing to former Bianconeri player Stefano Sturaro, who volleyed in the equaliser.

Another offside flag frustrated Juventus again, this time ruling out an overhead kick from Dybala from beneath the crossbar. Then Cristiano Ronaldo took centre stage, converting two late penalties to seal the win for Andrea Pirlo’s side.
