Manchester City saw off Birmingham City in the third round of the FA Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win, thanks to two goals from Bernardo Silva and one from Phil Foden.

Pep Guardiola named a strong side and the Premier League side came bursting out of the traps, with all three goals arriving in the first half of the game.

Silva opened the scoring after just eight minutes with a fine left-footed strike, and doubled his own and his team’s tally just moments later after a pinpoint assist from Kevin de Bruyne.

Foden then made it 3-0 on 33 minutes, receiving a pass from Riyad Mahrez, before unleashing a left-footed strike from the edge of the area that went in off the post.
