Leicester City are always a tough opponent for Manchester City, and their Premier League tie at the King Power Stadium was no different.

Brendan Rodgers side have already defeated City in the Community Shield so far this campaign and gave them a run for their money again as Pep Guardiola’s side took all three points with a 1-0 victory away from home.

With their first Champions League group game against RB Leipzig coming up on Wednesday, Guardiola rested Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, John Stones, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling.

Leicester looked dangerous in the first half on the counter attack, with the speedy Jamie Vardy their focal point up top.

After the break, Harvey Barnes hit the crossbar and Vardy had a goal disallowed before Bernardo Silva put the visitors ahead.

The Portuguese pounced after teammate Joao Cancelo’s shot was parried by Caglar Soyuncu in the Foxes defence.

The home side kept pressing a Ademola Lookman forced a save from Ederson, with Jack Grealish nearly doubling his sides lead late on, but he was denied by Kasper Schmeichel.
