Bayern Munich are enforcing a new set of rules under new sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, including a ban on coach Carlo Ancelotti smoking while on club premises.
The Italian’s vices include chewing gum and cigarettes, the latter of which he can no longer indulge in during working hours.
“It’s a good thing for my health, my wife is delighted,” said Ancelotti after Salihamidzic praised him for accepting the letter of the law ‘like a true professional’.
Ancelotti explained in 2010 that he began smoking while still a player, aged 25, when suffering a difficult period of injuries.
