After overcoming his ankle injury, Gareth Bale is finally returning to full fitness and he will be available to face Barcelona in El Clasico if Zinedine Zidane determines that is the best course of action.
Despite missing matches against Sporting and Bayern, the Welsh winger is now ready for what could be a decisive match towards the LaLiga title.
On Friday he trained with the team and completed Zidane’s session for the second time this week as he nears his return.
It isn’t clear yet if Bale will start or be given a run in the second half.
The player was frustrated at having to miss the Bayern Munich second leg, as in fact he isn’t even injured in the traditional sense but rather is in ankle pain that needs to be rested.
If Bale has proved anything since joining Real, it is that he is a big-match player, always to be counted on when it matters most.
Last season, his goals kept Real Madrid in LaLiga until the very end and he scored the goal that lifted his team into the Champions League final.
It is little surprise that Bale didn’t want to miss Sunday’s showdown, and after doing all that he can to make the squad, will hope to be given the nod as a starter.
